I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, licensed in the state of Florida & Hawaii. My graduate level training was at the University of Colorado Denver, Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education program, for a MA of Counseling, Clinical Mental Health track. I graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Psychology and Minor in Women's Studies. I have since been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDR Consulting. I began working in this field as a volunteer grief facilitator in Phoenix, AZ in 2004. After graduation, I worked at an inpatient adolescent substance dependence program in Scottsdale, AZ. I completed my internship and continued to work for the next 5 years at an adult Intensive Outpatient Program for substance dependence in New Orleans, LA. I made my transition to working with eating disorders at an inpatient unit in New Orleans, LA where I was introduced to Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills and principles. I joined a group private practice when I moved to Honolulu, HI in 2015 and focused primarily on disordered eating, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma. During this time I also worked part time at The Lavender Clinic, a clinic providing services to transgender and the LGBQ community. I am currently in private practice in the Midtown Miami area offering in-person and virtual therapy options for Florida and Hawaii residents.
