Alison is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor who through previous work and life experiences is committed to helping clients rebuild a positive relationship with themselves and food. She received her Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Foods with a concentration in Dietetics from Appalachian State University. She completed her dietetic internship in Northern Virginia through Appalachian State University. She is currently working towards her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) certification. She previously practiced at an eating disorder facility with Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs (PHP/IOP) working with individuals both one on one and in group settings. She continues to work per diem at an Inpatient Facility in the area while also providing guidance on her expertise to the program. Alison was driven to the eating disorder field after her experiences as a competitive gymnast and Division 1 collegiate athlete. She is passionate about helping all individuals with varying backgrounds and all eating disorders through individualized care with a particular interest in pediatrics and athletes. She practices within the Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size® (HAES) principles by walking alongside clients to help them heal their relationship with food and themselves. She utilizes her experience in the fitness industry as a Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Pure Barre Instructor to guide clients when they are ready to add joyful and intuitive movement, to feel strong and empowered through a neutral movement approach.
