Hola from Puerto Rico, Im a personal trainer and master student of exercise physiology. I used to keep my "healthy weight" by using my senses (something similar to intuitive, I think) But then, as I began to work in the fitness industry I also become more obsess with a perfect body... and you know the rest of the story. I knew this diet and crazy exercing with my client and myself was wrong and I got a point in wich I didnt'want to work for people that want to loose weight. I was looking for something that really help people and myself and I found this book in a bookstore. I feel Im geting myself back and Im learning to help others. Thank you!!! (sorry for my bad English)

I first tried intuitive eating after someone gave me your book 3 years ago. I failed miserably at attempting to do this at that time because I actually had an eating disorder, which made it necessary for me to not judge my own hunger/fullness and just follow a prescribed food plan for a (long, difficult) while. Now, 3 years later, I'm attempting intuitive eating again. For the first time, I'm off my meal plan and treading water - eating on my own. Thank you for your book and for providing the principles of Intuitive Eating. Without those guiding principles, I'd be really lost right now. And I'm really glad I'm in a place to be able to actually use the principles on my own. Having gone from a place of extreme calorie counting (and recounting and recounting) to a world of intuitive eating is the most freeing feeling in the world. Suddenly, I don't have to worry about food. Because there is no calorie ceiling. And I can eat if I'm hungry. It's all such a relief! Your book and your principles are my guide throughout my every day. Thank you!

Thank you so very, very much for this website. I'm 21... have come from 170 to 135 lbs (healthy and feeling good!) BUT started extreme binge eating. Bingeing and restricting is a cycle and I know it's not something I could keep up, nor did I want to. Intuitive eating helps me realize that my body can eat whatever it wants in healthy amounts, and guess what- most of the time, it wants clean food anyway. Nothing is off limits, and nothing can stop me now. thank you for giving me life back.

Just discovered your book. I felt like you were describing me. My husband still doesn't "get it". I'm still learning, but it's great to feel my hunger again and know it's okay to eat what ever I want. And now I really don't want all the junk anymore! Amazing!!

I am new to intuitive eating. After years of dieting, I'm really tired of spending my efforts deciding WHAT I'lll eat, IF I'll eat, etc. I feel a little guilty in these initial stages making the decision not to stress about what I'm eating, but I'm going to keep pressing thru!

Thanks for writing this book! I was at a healthy weight, worked out, loved food, never worried about calories or anything...then I started watching the Biggest Loser and they suggested counting calories....since that day 6 years ago I have been on a roller coaster, I don't even enjoy food anymore, weight goes down, then right back up again. I do good, then I binge for a week...I obsess over food...it's all I think about anymore.... I just know that Intuitive Eating is going to change my life. Thanks again!

I have "watched my weight" my whole life. I have weighed and not weighed. I have been thin and quite heavy. Right now I like my size. I LOVE this way of thinking about/eating. It is not easy for me but I'm liking it a lot. I will have to find a substitute for all my attention. I just need a way of keeping my focus. Until it becomes natural. Thank you very much.

Thank you so much for your book! I am in recovery from an eating disorder. I went to the Center For Change and was introduced to intuitive eating. It has saved my life. it really works. I am so excited about life, to enjoy food, accept my body and never have to go on another stupid diet again! it really works if you trust and be patient. thank you!
